Job Description

Webley Inc., a Bannockburn IL based company, is seeking a passionate Entry Level Web Developer with 0 – 3 years of experience to join its team of talented developers. Webley specializes in delivering services in the health care vertical, which are based on voice and web applications.

The position entails the development of new and enhancement of existing web applications utilizing PHP and some Perl. A perfect candidate must have a strong curiosity that will drive the acquisition of in-depth knowledge of existing implementation, identify inadequacies, then research and implement new solutions. The candidate must also have a strong work ethic, be comfortable when providing support to API customers, be resourceful, achieve results, seek help from team members and also offer help to others.

Position Responsibilities

  • Continuous self development and contribution to the team knowledge base
  • Leverage the internal and industry knowledge to contribute to software and product design decisions
  • Efficiently execute the implementation of agreed product features and software architecture while conforming to best coding practices and guidelines
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting services to clients using our APIs
  • Assist Quality Assurance personnel in test case development and testing to ensure best possible test coverage
  • Gain a complete understanding of the various system interdependencies and limitations, then develop, execute, and monitor diagnostic tests for the purposes of correcting mistakes, isolating areas for improvement and general debugging

Skills

  • A good understanding of PHP and JavaScript
  • Knowledge of Web-internals and common Web-methodologies
  • Perl is a plus
  • Unix/Linux systems knowledge
  • Familiarity with version control systems - CVS, SVN
  • Familiarity with databases (Sybase, MySQL)
  • Some experience with Enterprise Service Bus, and Service Oriented Architectures is a plus
